First Dental Visit for Kids: Right Age, What to Expect, and How to Prepare

Your child should ideally see a dentist by age 1 or within 6 months of first tooth eruption.

Early visits help children become comfortable in the dental setting and allow parents to receive practical guidance on feeding, brushing, and cavity prevention. During the first visit, we assess oral development, cleaning technique, and risk factors.

Keep the experience positive. Avoid using fear-based words and schedule appointments when your child is well-rested. Preventive fluoride and sealants can significantly reduce cavity risk.
